“Bharat Jodo Yatra” (the United India Campaign) started by Congress parliamentarian Rahul Gandhi on Saturday entered Delhi amid calls by the Federal Health Minister to follow COVID protocols.
The party’s former president, Rahul Gandhi’s mother Sonia Gandhi, as well as his sister, the party’s general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also joined him. This is the second time Sonia Gandhi has joined the foot march. Earlier, she joined the campaign in Karnataka in October.

Apart from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Sonia Gandhi, several party politicians including Delhi Congress Chief Anil Chaudhary, party spokesperson Pawan Khera, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Randeep Surjewala, Kumari Selja and thousands of party workers joined the “yatra”.
Rahul Gandhi received a rousing welcome from party workers at Badarpur Border in Delhi as the campaign entered the capital city from Faridabad.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in a tweet in Hindi said: “After walking miles from Kanyakumari, Bharat Jodo Yatra has reached Delhi today. Against the politics of inflation, unemployment, inequality and hatred, this national mass movement has gathered the hopes of millions of people by reaching the throne of power. Greetings to every participant and Rahul Gandhi.”

The Congress parliamentarian addressed the party workers and other participants of the campaign and reiterated that the motive of his yatra is to open a “mohabbat ki dukaan” (shop of love) amid a “nafrat ka bazaar” (market of hatred).
Earlier, Federal Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote to Rahul Gandhi asking him to ensure COVID "protocols" are followed during his foot march.
Congress had alleged that the BJP wanted to stop Gandhi's yatra as it is scared of the love his campaign is receiving.
