Winter chill has seized India's northeastern state of Assam in its frozen grasp after a hailstorm struck several districts on Tuesday, leaving the state's entire city of Dibrugarh covered under an icy blanket.
Several netizens took to social media to post pictures and videos of roads and houses covered in a white sheet of snow.
Seeing the hailstorm like this for the first time in Dibrugarh thrilled residents who hurried outdoors to play in the snow and take photographs.
Some also mentioned that the view reminded them of Manali town's snow-capped houses in the state of Himachal Pradesh with some even drawing comparisons with the US, and Canada.

Assam's state chief Himanta Biswas Sarma issued an update on the incident from the local government offices and tweeted that because of a severe hailstorm, several houses in the towns of Moran and Tingkhong have been damaged.
Several farmers also claimed that the hailstorm had severely damaged their crops of potato, mustard, wheat, and vegetables.
The government is monitoring the situation and extending help to all affected by it.
According to India Meteorological Department, the temperature is expected to dip as low as 10 degrees Celsius.
