The 69-year-old brother of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prahlad Damodar Das Modi, and his family were injured in a car accident near Kadakola village in the Mysuru district of India's Karnataka state on Tuesday.
The incident took place while the family was heading from Bengaluru city to a tourist destination in Bandipur.

Although Prahlad's condition is said to be stable and out of danger, his 40-year-old son Mehul Prahlad Modi, daughter-in-law Jindal Modi and their six-year-old son Menat Mehul Modi are said to be seriously injured. They were moved to a private hospital.
A source told Indian media that the front portion of the car had been damaged completely and the people inside were lucky to survive, but, unfortunately, were injured after the airbags opened up at the moment of impact.
The driver also sustained severe injuries and was taken to hospital.
