As many as seven people, including two women, have been arrested for allegedly beating a Border Security Force (BSF) officer to death in Nadiad city in India's state of Gujarat.
According to local media reports, the 45-year-old victim, Melaji Vaghela, came to talk with a 20-year-old man regarding an obscene video of Vaghela's 15-year-old daughter which had appeared online.
Police confirmed that Melaji Vaghela, an officer with BSF 56 battalion in Mehsana city, and his wife Manjula, 42, as well as one of their sons, Navdeep Vaghela, and nephew Chirag Vaghela, went to the house of Shailesh - alias Sunil Jadav - who reportedly uploaded footage of Vaghela's daughter online around 10pm on 24 December.
Media reports suggest Jadav, 20 and the officer's daughter were in a relationship.
After an initial altercation with the accused family, Vaghela was attacked by them with sticks and other objects, leaving the BSF officer dead.
On Monday evening, police arrested all the family members on charges of rioting and murder.
