A 20-year-old woman was reportedly stabbed to death with a screwdriver in Korba city of India's Chhattisgarh state.
The postmortem report revealed she was stabbed as many as 51 times – 34 times in the chest, 16 times in the back, and once in the neck. The injuries on the victim's hand suggest she struggled with her murderer.
What's more, the killer used a pillow against her mouth to stop her from screaming out.
Police told reporters that the incident allegedly occurred on Saturday, when the victim, Neel Kusum Panna, was alone at her house. As her brother reached home, he found her lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
Police found air and bus tickets in the name of the accused, Shahbaz Khan, and other things. However, the murder weapon remains missing.
Upon preliminary investigation, it is assumed that Panna and Khan were in a relationship, but Panna refused to speak to him and stopped taking his calls, while reportedly starting to talk to another man.
Four police teams have been formed to track the suspect
