India and Russia have signed a series of documents concerning aviation that will facilitate shipping and allow for the development of mutually agreed certification procedures, Russian Aviation announced on Tuesday.
“On December 27, Federal Air Transport Agency and General Aviation Administration of the Republic of India has signed implementation procedures for construction approval, production activities, export certificates of airworthiness, post-approval activities and inter-agency technical assistance," the official statement reads.
It was specified that the newly signed docs would facilitate the conditions for exports of certified civil aviation equipment between the two countries by providing mutual approval of certification procedures and validation of approval documents necessary for the certification of standard design of planes, helicopters, engines, unmanned aviation systems, and components of aviation equipment.
The implementation procedures are also an efficient mechanism to ensure timely exchange of information regarding airworthiness and flight safety between the state manufacturer and the state operator, the statement adds.
In March last year, Russia and India also exchanged diplomatic notes on finalizing the domestic procedures necessary for changes to be included into the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA).
