Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, Hiraben (Hiraba), who is 100 years old, was admitted to UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad early on Wednesday morning due to an undisclosed illness.
According to a statement released by the hospital, Hiraben's condition is currently stable and she is being monitored by medical professionals.
“U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre, Ahmedabad hospital’s spokesperson hereby informing that Hon’ble Prime Ministers Mother is admitted at U N Mehta Insitute of Cardiology & Research Centre, Ahmedabad & her health condition is stable,” the statement issued by the hospital reads.
Local politicians and government officials, including BJP legislators Darshnaben Vaghela and Kaushik Jain, as well as other senior bureaucrats, have already visited Hiraba at the hospital to check up on her condition.
This comes as on Tuesday, Narendra Modi's brother, Prahlad Modi, and several members of his family were injured in a car accident near Mysuru, Karnataka. Prahlad, his son, daughter-in-law, and a child were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
