A 40-year-old Hindu woman was brutally murdered in Pakistan's Sinjhoro town on Wednesday, the country's first female Hindu Senator Krishna Kumari has informed.
Her body was found in a mustard field after the woman mysteriously disappeared the day before.
Sharing the gruesome details of the murder on Twitter, Kumari said that the victim, identified as Daya Bhel, was beheaded and her breasts were chopped off. To make matters even more gruesome, the skin was "peeled off" parts of her body and face.
Bhel, who is a widow, is survived by four children.
Shocked by her death, Pakistani activists took to Twitter, demanding that justice be served, with the hashtag #JusticeForDayaBheel trending.
Popular Pakistani activist Faqir Shiva Kacchi tweeted in Urdu: "We strongly condemn the brutal killing of a poor widowed Hindu woman #Diya Bheel at Sanjhuru near Sanghar. Daya Bhel's head and breast were also cut SSP Sanghar@babrohi_psp. plz Take notice and arrest the brutal killers."
