In a tragic incident, two people died on Friday when an oxygen cylinder exploded outside a hospital in the Chandauli district in India’s Uttar Pradesh state.
Media reports, quoting local residents, said the explosion was so loud that people living in the neighborhood of Dayal Hospital, located in the Ravi Nagar area of Mughalsarai city, hid in their houses.
The explosion reportedly occurred when oxygen cylinders were being unloaded from a truck parked outside the hospital.
The blast was so intense that it shattered windows at the hospital and nearby houses.
A police official said the cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, while CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being collected for this purpose.
Both of the deceased worked for the company that supplied oxygen cylinders.
