Veteran Indian actor Lakshman, who has acted in more than 200 Kannada language films and played various shades of characters, passed away on Monday following a heart attack at his residence in Bengaluru city in India's Karnataka state.
On Sunday night, the 74-year-old actor reportedly complained of heart pain and was taken to the hospital where his ECG (electrocardiogram) tests were done.
However, after returning home, a massive heart attack struck Lakshman who died in the wee hours of Monday.
Several actors took to social media to offer condolences to the family on his demise.

Lakshman, who was last seen in the recently released movie 'Ravi Bopoanna', shot to fame for playing the role of an antagonist in his movies Dada, Halunda Thavaru, Yajamana, Suryvamasha, Sangliyana and Malla.
His last rites are likely to be performed today.
