Ukraine will be receive "billions" in direct budgetary support this week, US President Joe Biden announced during his undeclared visit to Ukraine on Monday.
Prior to the official news, an air alert was announced in Ukraine's capital, Kiev, where "important partners" were expected on Monday morning.
"In joint remarks with Zelensky at the palace, Biden announced a half a billion dollars of additional assistance to Ukraine and said more details would be released in the coming days," the White House said.
The new package will include "more military equipment, including artillery ammunition, more javelins and Howitzers."

Furthermore, the US and its allies pledged to send about 700 tanks, thousands of armored vehicles, 1,000 artillery systems, more than 2 million artillery shells, and more than 50 advanced multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) to Ukraine" Biden said during a joint press conference with Zelensky.

Kiev is paying a big price, the sacrifice is too big, Biden said.
Biden is accompanied by US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Biden's Deputy Chief of Staff Jen O'Malley Dillon and US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, according to the press pool.
