The super-hit Indian Telugu language movie "RRR" has once again impressed crowds at the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Awards in multiple categories, media reports said on Saturday.
The period drama directed by S.S. Rajamouli won in the Best International Film, Best Action Film, Best Stunts and Best Song categories.
This comes days before the Academy Awards, which will take place on March 12.
The Best International Film award was received by Rajamouli and film’s lead actor Ram Charan.
The film’s director Rajamouli, who shot to fame for his movie ‘Bahubali’, in his acceptance speech said: “Aaah! The best international film...Again to all my fellow filmmakers in India, it is for all of us to believe we can truly make International films! Thank you HCA for that...it means a lot. Thank you very much...a lot. Jai Hind."
Meanwhile, Ram Charan said while accepting the award: “I didn't expect to come up (on the) stage, because I was told by my director to accompany him, so...thank you so much for giving us all this love, it's just a great response, so we're going to come back with better films and entertain you all. Thank you so much, thank you HCA.”
The movie is a fictitious story about two legendary fighters – Alluri Seetharamaraju, played by Ram Charan, and Komaram Bheem, played by Jr N.T. Rama Rao (also known as NTR). Apart from these two actors, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson played other important roles in the movie.
The film has been applauded by film critics across the globe and in January this year it won two awards at Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles. It won Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu.
Naatu Naatu also won the Best Song at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles.
The movie has also been nominated for Oscars.
