A video of a King Cobra standing upright to a human's height with its head raised and looking out for predators is giving netizens the willies.
An Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, Susanta Nanda, shared a spine-chilling video on Monday in which the snake can be seen standing on the muddy ground, peeping out in one direction.
Since being shared, the video has been viewed over 300,000 times and garnered over 4,500 likes and 800 comments.
While some netizens found it scary and majestic, several others recalled their own experiences encountering a King Cobra standing upright in front of their eyes.
One user wrote, "Myself and my dad had seen such a thing years back in village, jitters down the spine, both of us were shivering and ran back home."
Another commented, "I will die on the spot at this encounter just from fear alone."
"I was face to face with one such cobra in this stand up position way back in 1997. It does intimidate you," replied the third.
