Some provisions of China's peace plan for Ukraine can be key to future peace efforts, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said on Friday.
"Some of the provisions of the peace plan presented by our Chinese colleagues can be the main base for future peace efforts," Galuzin said in an interview with the RT broadcaster.
What Does China Peace Plan for Ukraine Suggest?
In February, China released a 12-point document entitled "China's Position on the Political Settlement of the Ukraine Crisis." Mainly, China's suggestions include:
respect for the sovereignty of all countries;
the cessation of hostilities;
the resumption of peace talks between Moscow and Kiev;
China also opposesthe abuse of unilateral sanctions in the context of the Ukraine conflict, as they do not help resolve the crisis.
Earlier, Florian Philippot, the leader of French euroskeptic party The Patriots, told RIA Novosti that a dialogue between Europe and BRICS countries may pave the way to peace negotiations on Ukraine.
