Rare: Indian Woman Gives Birth to All-Girl Quintuplets

The odds of conceiving quintuplets (five children born at once) are 1 in 55 million. Generally, quintuplets are a combination of boys and girls while the chances of all-male or all-female quintuplets are even rarer.

A woman in India's Jharkhand state has given birth to five baby girls. All the newborns and their mother are reportedly in good health at present.
According to media reports, Ankita, a resident of Itkhori village in Chatra district, gave birth to the kids at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences.
The babies are premature, as the woman delivered the tiny tots in the seventh month of pregnancy. As such, they have been kept under special care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Sharing a photo of the newborns, the institute stated: "Successful delivery was done under the leadership of Dr. Shashi Bala Singh.”
“Giving birth to five children was risky. But the lady wanted to go with it anyway. It was a challenge for us too. But the operation was successful and all the babies and the mother are healthy. The babies are still a little underweight because of which they have been kept in the NICU. But there is no reason to panic,” Dr. Singh added.
Meanwhile, Ankita said that she was overjoyed as now she has five “Lakshmis” (Goddess of wealth) in her home.
However, being a wife of a local fruit seller, she has sought people's financial help to enable her family to raise their daughters and give them a proper education.
