Russia's Yandex Go Goes Global: Pakistan's Lahore Welcomes Yango Ride-Hailing Service

The Yango taxi service, owned by the Russian tech giant Yandex, has become available in Pakistan, as confirmed by Lahore-based fleet partner of Yango, several investors and social media reports on Tuesday.

Pakistanis can now order a taxi in Lahore, after the Yango taxi service was made available in one of the largest cities of Pakistan making Yango represented in about 20 countries around the globe.
According to social media reports, the cars connected to the service are now displayed on the map in the respective app.
The Yandex press service declined to give an official comment to Sputnik to confirm the details of the project.

However, Lahore-based Fleet Partner of Yango, Suffiyan Malik, confirmed to Sputnik the launch of Yango in his city. He added that the service is gaining traction at a remarkable speed.

Yango features smart mapping, routing, and navigation technologies and harnesses machine learning for its order distribution system making ride affordable, quick and comfortable.
According to Yango's official data some 700,000 drivers are connected to it worldwide, and 36 million people have used the service since its launch.
The company celebrated its one billionth ride in September 2018.
