Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said several buildings in the Russian capital were slightly damaged this morning in a drone attack.
Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorovyov said several drones have been shot down near the Russian capital.

"This morning, residents of some districts of the Moscow Region could hear the sounds of explosions - this is the work of our air defenses. Several drones were shot down on approach to Moscow," the governor wrote on Telegram.

Vorobyov asked residents to remain calm and said all emergency services are working.
Later, Russia's Ministry of Defence has issued a statement, saying that the Kiev regime "launched terrorist attack using unmanned aerial vehicles [UAVs] against targets in Moscow":
Eight unmanned aircraft of airplane type were involved in the attack;
All of the enemy's drones were destroyed;
Three of them were suppressed by means of electronic warfare, lost control, and deviated from their intended targets;
Another five unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by the "Pantsir-S" anti-aircraft missile and artillery complex in the Moscow region.

The drones used in the Ukrainian terrorist attack on Moscow were previously unknown types of UAVs, and were built using a closed-coupled canard design, Alexey Rogozin, head of the Transport Technology Development Center said.

According to the design of these drones, the horizontal tail unit is located in front of the wing. This may be due to the desire to increase the carrying capacity, the expert said.
Ukraine has probably launched production of these types of UAVs, and their range can be up to thousands of kilometers with a wing span of up to 4 meters, Rogozin said.
