Talks on Russia opening a credit line for Sri Lanka are at the final stage, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Moscow Janita Liyanage told Sputnik on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"Still we are in the discussion level of getting a credit line to Sri Lanka from Russia. We are in the final stage of discussions, now we are discussing about how the money can be transferred... We expect our energy minister to be here in Russia to finalize the agreement... It is a commercial credit line," the ambassador said.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is taking place on June 14-17. RIA Novosti, a part of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, is an official media partner and the host photo agency for the event.
