Indian, Mongolian Troops Kick Off ‘Nomadic Elephant 2023’ Drill

The Indian military and the Mongolian armed forces are all set to begin the 15th edition of the bilateral joint exercise dubbed 'Nomadic Elephant-23' tomorrow in Mongolia's capital city Ulaanbaatar.

In the 15-day-long joint military drill, an Indian Army contingent from the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment and the Mongolian Armed Forces Unit 084 will practice joint tactical operations, share experience, and develop inter-operability.
The Nomadic Elephant military exercise is an annual training event held alternatively in Mongolia and India.
The joint drill will primarily focus on conducting counter-terrorism operations in mountainous terrain, while also including a platoon-level Field Training Exercise (FTX).
The troops from India and Mongolia will hone their skills and abilities by engaging in a variety of activities, such as endurance training, reflexive shooting, room intervention, small team tactics, and rock climbing training.
