Indian devotees will be able to visit Mount Kailash, believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, from September, it has been announced.
Vimal Goswami, the chief engineer of Border Roads Organization (BRO)'s Diamond Project, has informed an Indian news agency that they have started the construction process to forge a path up the mountain. It comes after they cut a six-and-a-half kilometre road from the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) Huts to the Lipulekh Pass in the Nabhidhang area of Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district.
Hirak Project is currently leading the construction of a road that is projected to be finished by September. This road will provide access to the mesmerizing 'Kailash Viewpoint' in the Himalayan region.
Meanwhile, the most famous pilgrimage tour - Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra - through the Lipulekh Pass on the India-China border is yet to be resumed after it was shut due to the Covid-induced lockdown.
