The deliveries of Russia's S-400 Triumph air defense systems and equipment for their operation to India are going according to plan, Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation chief Dmitry Shugaev told Sputnik on Monday.
"The production of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems is on schedule. The delivery of the equipment for the S-400 Triumph system is expected to be completed within the agreed time frame," Shugaev said at the Army-2023 international military-technical forum.
In 2018, India signed a $5.2 billion deal with Russian arms maker Almaz-Antey for the purchase of five surface-to-air missile systems as a deterrent against neighbors, who lay rival claims to border territories. The contract runs through 2024.
The Army-2023 defense industry forum is taking place from August 14-20 in the Moscow Region's town of Kubinka, Russia. Sputnik is the official media partner of the event.
