The forum, jointly organized by the Buddhist Union of Russia, the Government of Buryatia, and the Roscongress Foundation, has established a foundation named "Addressing the Challenges of Traditional Buddhist Philosophy and Modernity" with the aim of promoting Buddhist education and research.
The event brings together representatives from India, Nepal, Mongolia, Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Sri Lanka, Laos, Thailand, Bhutan, and Cambodia.
