A remarkably well-preserved dinosaur skeleton, incredibly rare and currently owned by Zoic, a prestigious Italian laboratory, will be auctioned in Paris in October, with an estimated value of $1.3 million.
Named Barry after paleontologist Barry James, who restored the skeleton in 2000, the dinosaur is a camptosaurus discovered in Wyoming in the 1990s.
Barry, a 2.1 metres tall and 5 metres long specimen, was bought by the Italian laboratory Zoic last year. They performed some restorational work on the body.
Barry is an exceptional find as he is such a well-preserved specimen, says Alexandre Giquello, a representative from the Paris auction house Drouot where the sale is scheduled to take place.

Dinosaur Barry's skeleton is not the only valuable fossil to appear in the salerooms this year.
On 18 April, a 67Mln-year-old Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton named Trinity was auctioned in Switzerland.
Trinity had been composed using the bone material of three T-Rex specimens. They were excavated between 2008 and 2013 in the US states of Montana and Wyoming.
It was the first time an entire T-Rex skeleton had gone under the hammer and it fetched a record sum of $6.1Mln at the Koller auction house in Zurich.
