A Lahore court has ordered former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is currently in jail for allegedly violating the Official Secrets Act, to be indicted on October 17.
According to reports, Khan, who also heads Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf - a political party commonly known as PTI, is accused of disclosing a secret diplomatic cable sent by the Pakistan Embassy in the US.
The diplomatic cable reportedly went missing from Khan's possession.
The announcement was made at a court hearing on Monday, which was presided over by special court Judge Abdul Hasnaat Zulqarnain.
The 71-year-old former PM was arrested in August after a case was filed against him.
The charge sheet submitted in the special court by the investigating agency also accused Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a PTI leader and close associate of Khan, of facilitating the former prime minister.
