The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, emphasized that the stability of the global system hinges on the crucial aspect of adhering to the norms of international law as established by the UN Charter.

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the principles of the UN Charter should serve as a ''solid foundation for constructing the new world order.'' Lavrov made this claim in an article he authored, referencing Russian President Vladimir Putin's speech at the plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club.
Last week in Sochi, Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined an ambitious goal, stating that "our mission is to construct a new world."

"There is a foundation for building a new world, and it is solid - it is the UN Charter. The main thing now is to prevent its destruction through opportunistic selective juggling with the Charter's principles, to achieve their fulfilment in their entirety and interconnectedness by all countries," the minister wrote.

Lavrov emphasizes that "humanity will have a chance to overcome the harmful legacy of the unipolar era" if there is a strong commitment to upholding the norms of international law enshrined in the fundamental document of the United Nations.

"The extent to which everyone is ready to realise their own and collective responsibility for the fate of the world will show the preparation for the "Summit of the Future" to be held next year at the initiative of the UN Secretary General," Lavrov said.
