Ukraine's armed forces unleashed 12 projectiles against Donetsk and Makeyevka on Monday morning, the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to Ukrainian War Crimes (JCCC) said.
"The shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces was recorded in the locality of Galitsynovka, in the city of Donetsk (the Kuibyshev district): three 155 mm caliber shells were fired… in the locality of Kurakhovka in the city of Donetsk (the Petrovsky district): four 155 mm caliber shells were fired," the representative office's Telegram channel stated.
It is noted that Ukrainian forces also fired three shells at the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, and two more shells at the Chervonogvardeisky and Kirovsky districts of Makeyevka.
Additionally, Ukrainian troops fired two more cluster shells into the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, the DPR representative to JCCC reported.
The Kuibyshevsky district is located to the west of Donetsk, while Petrovsky is on the western outskirts of the city. This is the most remote part of the city from the center. Since 2014, when the DPR declared independence from Kiev, this neighborhood, starting from the contact line behind the town of Maryinka, has been regularly shelled by the Ukrainian armed forces.
Makeyevka is a satellite city of Donetsk, adjacent to it from the northeast. In 2014, Makeyevka had a population of about 350,000 people. The Chervonogvardeyskiy district is located in the western part of the city.
