The Russian Defence Minister, Army General, Sergei Shoigu, has convened a meeting to discuss the imperative matter of advancing the production of artillery and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
The General emphasised the importance of producing these systems and their ammunition quickly during special military operation, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

"During the meeting, the head of the Russian Defense ministry noted the importance of prompt production of artillery systems and ammunition for them," the ministry said.

Shoigu noted that during a special military operation, it is crucial to rapidly restock ammunition supplies. He emphasized the significance of military-industrial enterprises boosting their production of artillery systems and MLRS, while shrinking delivery times to troops, given the extra demand from the armed forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry chief emphasized that the federal executive agencies have implemented strategies to enhance the production of artillery systems.

"The Russian government has granted the defense industry the authority to utilize all reserves, including mobilization capabilities," highlighted Shoigu.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the Russian Defence Ministry has not only streamlined the contract process, but has also reduced testing requirements and relaxed component part standards, all without compromising the overall quality of the final products.
