The family of Krisha Shah, a devoted follower of Jainism, organized a magnificent celebration to mark the end of her 110-day-long fast, which she undertook as a profound act of devotion.
She went without food for three months and 20 days straight, and only consumed boiled water between 9 am and 6.30 pm.
Krisha's fasting was celebrated with a grand event, where she received the blessings of a highly respected Jain guru.

During three months, Krisha lost about 18 kilograms in weight, Rupa Shah, the girl's mother, told Indian media.

Rupa said that her daughter initially vowed to complete a 16-day fast and embarked on a fasting journey on 11 July. However, looking at her health condition, she decided to extend it by 10 days. After 26 days, she aimed for 31 days, then 51 days, 71 days, and so on before she ended her fast.
Muni Padmakalash Maharaj, her spiritual guru, revealed that a select group of devotees often commit themselves to rigorous 108-day fasting rituals, which happen over one or two years.
Jain experts have observed that although many saints and monks have practiced such rigorous penance, it is exceptional to witness a young girl who has no previous experience of long-term fasting.

According to Guru Muni Padmakalash Maharaj, her incredible display of self-control, and discipline not only serves as a testament to her character, but also serves as a powerful inspiration to others, proving that the human mind is capable of setting ambitious goals and accomplishing what may initially appear to be impossible.

After a few days, Krisha's family noticed that she no longer had any craving for food. Instead, she found solace in immersing herself in religious scriptures and prayers, drawing strength from her newfound devotion.
Throughout this time, Krisha, who is studying in grade 11 at KES College in the Kandivali area, was attending college too.
Jigar Shah, Krisha's father and a stockbroker, told Indian media that his daughter undertook an impressive eight-day fast at the age of nine, and an even more remarkable 16-day fast when she was just 14.
