A devoted follower of the legendary actor-politician Rajnikanth, fondly called ‘Thalaiva’ by his fans, has transformed a section of their living space into a temple, adorned with an awe-inspiring 250 kg idol of the revered actor in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
Karthik told Indian media that he and his entire family consider Rajinikanth as God and hence built a temple for him as a mark of respect.
In the video that is circulating on the internet,, Karthik, along with his family, can be seen worshipping Rajnikanth's idol by lightening the oil lamp (diya), offering flowers, sweets, and more.
In a career spanning four decades, Indian cinema's most iconic star Rajinikanth, who is often celebrated for his acting prowess and larger-than-life persona, won millions of hearts with his remarkable performances in blockbuster movies like "Billu", "Sivaji", and many others.
This is not the first time that a temple of a superstar has been built. Several politicians and superstars' fans have constructed a temple in their honor and treated them no less than demi-gods.
In May this year, a follower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi also built a temple next to the temple of late Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the hills of Satyanarayan in Madhya Pradesh state's Gwalior city.
