Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief and three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif has launched a scathing attack on "conspirators" who reportedly "seek to undermine him".
“What was the need to conspire against us? What was the need for the judges to give a decision against us?" Pakistani media Geo TV cites Sharif .
The ex-PM said that a series of attacks against him and his party has "continued since 2017."
In 2018, he faced indictment by an anti-corruption court, resulting in a 10-year prison sentence. However, in 2019, the government, under Imran Khan's leadership, permitted Sharif to leave Pakistan for medical treatment abroad.
After a four-year self-imposed exile in London, Sharif made a significant return to Pakistan in October this year.
His return to his home country was facilitated by a grant of protection in ongoing graft cases. Concurrently, the accountability court has suspended his arrest warrant, allowing him a degree of freedom upon his return.
