An unidentified person in UK threw acid on Shazad Akbar, the accountability chief of ex-Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Pakistani media reported on Monday.
Akbar was at his new home when acid was thrown on his face on the weekend. However, he said, most of the acid landed on the door and only a small amount landed on him.

"My wife and children remained unharmed, only I got some injuries," media quoted former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader as saying.

The incident occurred in an area near London outside the PTI chairman's residence. The suspect came in the guise of a delivery boy on a motorbike.

Akbar, who is in self-exile in the UK, stated he was at home with his children on Sunday when the suspect rang their doorbell. Just as he opened the door, the helmet-wearing man threw acid on him.

Akbar presently resides in a small village outside London where he shifted a few weeks ago. He also claimed that his new address had been leaked.
Incidentally, the attack in London occurred on the same day when four teams of Pakistan's anti-corruption watchdog interrogated the PTI leader Khan at Adiala Jail in connection with the £190 million National Crime Agency (NCA) UK and Al-Qadir University Trust cases.
