In a shocking breach of security, two intruders managed to barge into the parliament by jumping from the visitors' gallery and making their way into the Lok Sabha, while spraying yellow-coloured gas.
The incident occurred just as the West Bengal BJP politician Khagen Murmu was addressing the Lok Sabha. Eyewitnesses reported that one of the intruders was seen darting through the chamber, vehemently shouting slogans as they released the gas.
Due to this alarming stunt, the Lok Sabha proceedings came to an abrupt halt, prompting MPs to quickly exit the chamber for their safety.
A compelling video capturing this shocking moment has gone viral on the internet, showing an unidentified individual fearlessly leaping over the benches occupied by the lawmakers.
The security personnel apprehended a man and a woman, aged around 20, and took them for interrogation.
"This is a serious breach of security especially on 13th December, the day when Parliament was attacked in 2001..." Congress MP Karti Chidambaram told Indian media.
