Vessel Struck With Drone Off Coast of India, No Casualties Reported

The Indian authorities are investigating the incident, while vessels have been advised to transit with caution.

An unmanned aerial vehicle attacked a ship off the coast of India, causing an explosion and a fire, according to the British Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) of the British Royal Navy.

"UKMTO received a report of a UAV attack on a ship, resulting in an explosion and a fire. The incident occurred 200 nautical miles (370 km - ed.) southwest of the city of Veraval. The fire has been extinguished, there were no casualties. Authorities are investigating", the UKMTO said.

The agency also advised vessels to pass through the area with caution and to report any suspicious activity to it.
The attacked tanker used for transporting chemical products was reportedly flying the flag of Liberia and was affiliated with Israel.
