Forest officials in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh successfully tranquilised a tiger on Monday morning after a large crowd surrounded the majestic animal in a village.
Once sedated, the majestic tiger was safely restrained and promptly removed by the skilled Forest Department personnel.
The presence of a tiger has captivated everyone and kept the villagers awake all night.
The tiger made its way to Atkona village in Kalinagar from the tiger reserve in Pilibhit district last night.
The relentless barking of stray dogs alerted the villagers to the presence of a tiger lying on the wall of a house. Panic gripped the villagers at the sight, and hundreds of them quickly gathered to keep a close eye on the animal.
A video circulating on the internet shows a huge crowd gathering on rooftops and behind barriers, trying to get footage of the tiger resting on the wall.
Nets have been used to cordon off the area around the animal, preventing anyone from getting close.
