Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is globally regarded as a devout Hindu, is all set to inaugurate a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to reports.
Interestingly, the Abu Dhabi event will be preceded by the much-awaited inauguration of the grand Ram temple at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh in January next year, for which hectic preparations are underway.
Modi was invited by the Bochasanwasi Shiri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) to inaugurate the temple on February 14, the reports said, citing an official statement from the organization.
BAPS representatives, led by Swami Ishwarcharandas and Swami Brahmaviharidas, met Modi at his official residence in New Delhi and extended the invitation.
"Delighted by this gesture, Prime Minister Modi graciously accepted the invitation and expressed his enthusiastic support for the historic and iconic temple," BAPS was quoted as saying in the media reports.
