Russian air defenses have shot down 97 Ukrainian drones in the past 24 hours, their Ministry of Defense said on Sunday.
“Air defense systems shot down 97 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Velikiy Vyselok in the Kharkov region, Golikovo, Belogorovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Tokmak, Novoye, Ocheretovatoye and Chistopolye in the Zaporozhye region,” the ministry said.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces likewise lost about 720 military personnel in 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
During the past 24 hours Russian troops repulsed two attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk area, in which Ukrainian losses included 380 troops and two infantry fighting vehicles, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
"In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Battlegroup, with the support of aviation and artillery, repulsed two attacks of the 112th Defense Brigade and the 24th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the Krasnoye and Leninskoye settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic,” the ministry report said.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that in the Zaporozhye area, "the enemy lost about 45 military personnel, two vehicles, a D-20 and a Grad MLRS combat vehicle."
The ministry noted that since the beginning of the special military operation, 568 aircraft, 265 helicopters, 11,775 unmanned aerial vehicles, 462 anti-aircraft missile systems, 14,904 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,216 combat vehicles of multiple launch rocket systems, 7,963 have been destroyed.
