Prime Minister Narendra Modi has distributed more than 1,000 drones to rural woman farmers.
The PM handed over the drones on Monday to 1,000 women trained as Namo Drone Didis — skilled drone pilots for agricultural purposes at the Sashakt Nari – Viksit Bharat programme held in New Delhi.
He also disbursed bank loans to Lakhpati Didis (prosperous sisters), a self-help group (SHG) members to become financially self-reliant.
Addressing the audience, Modi highlighted the opportunities that the programme would bring the nation.
Modi added that in India, SHGs have forged a new chapter in the realm of women's empowerment. Over the past decade, the remarkable growth of the groups in our country had become a subject of study.
