Two state-of-the-art ships, INS Agray and INS Akshay, designed specifically for the Indian Navy to bolster anti-submarine operations in coastal waters, low-intensity maritime operations, and mine-laying operations, were successfully launched on Wednesday.
The ships were launched by Neeta Chaudhari, wife of Chief of Air Staff of Indian Air Force, and Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari.
Addressing the audience at the launch, Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari told the Indian news agency, “It is a matter of immense pride that India is among select countries in the world with a capacity to build modern warships, submarines and aircraft carriers.”
