The Indian community in Malaysia has heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his progressive leadership. During a Sadbhavana (religious tolerance) event titled 'India's Global Odyssey for Communal Harmony and World Peace' in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Several eminent personalities, business leaders, vice-chancellors, academicians and members of the Indian community lauded the Indian Prime Minister for "the rapid transformation of the country in the last 10 years and his vision of a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region".
The dignitaries also attributed India's rise to global prominence as a testament to the nation's advancement in technology and economic prowess under Modi's leadership.
The Sadbhavana event was organised by the Indian Minorities Foundation (IMF) in association with the New India Foundation (NID) and dignitaries present at the event included IMF Convenor and Rajya Sabha Member Satnam Singh Sandhu, Indian Deputy High Commissioner to Kuala Lumpur Subashini Narayanan, NID Founder Himani Sood, ASEAN Indian Business Council Co-Chairman Ramesh Kodammal, former Senator in the Upper House of the Malaysian Parliament and businessman Daljit Singh and many others.
A Malaysian resolution was also passed during the event and the Indian community pledged their support for India's growth. They also vowed to contribute to Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat (developed India) by 2047.
A book titled 'Igniting Collective Goodness: Mann Ki Baat@100' was also launched. The book contains the account of Modi's dialogue session with the people of the country since October 2014.
