Just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, people across the country received a welcome announcement from the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) – a price cut in commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders nationwide.
Effective from Monday (1 April), the rates have been slashed by INR 30-32 (approximately 0.36-0.38 USD)
Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the price of commercial LPG cylinders has decreased to INR 1,717.50 ($20.59) from INR 1,749 ($20.97). In Chennai, prices have also dropped to INR 1,930 ($23.14) from INR 1,960.50 ($23.51).
It is worth noting that in March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an INR 100 reduction ($1.20) in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders in honor of International Women's Day.
