The 11 Moscow film companies' recent visit to India has sparked renewed interest in bilateral film partnerships, securing agreements with some of the big Indian filmmakers, Deputy Mayor for Culture, Alexey Fursin, said in a media statement.
"As part of the 'Moscow - City of Cinema' project, the focus is on creating joint projects with India – in April, eleven Moscow film companies as part of a business mission visited several Indian cities. Agreements on cooperation have already been concluded, and foreign partner film companies are shooting movies in Moscow," Fursin said.
The ongoing business mission for film collaboration aims to achieve co-production, secure export contracts, and establish cooperation agreements.
"Negotiations are also underway for the implementation of Indian-Russian projects, the filming of which will take place in India, Moscow, and other cities of Russia by the end of 2024," the press service of the Department of Culture said.
Moscow is not only collaborating with India, but also actively expanding its partnerships in the film industry with planned business missions to China, the UAE, and other countries in 2024, Fursin added.
