Sri Lanka Extends Free Visas to Tourists from India, Russia Until May End
This is not the first time the island country has introduced a free visa scheme for foreign tourists. In October last year, Sri Lanka introduced a free visa regime that was extended until 30 April for tourists from China, India, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan.
Since mid-April, Sri Lanka has been implementing a new e-visa as part of its revised tourism policy, offering a standard tourist visa for $75 with a 180-day validity and the option for a continuous 60-day stay in the country.
Tourists can also apply for visas valid for one, two, five, or 10 years, allowing for multiple entries.
All of these visas, except for the annual visa, allow for a continuous stay of 180 days in the island nation.
