Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande on Monday received Indian Oil Corporation's Hydrogen-powered fuel cell bus to be tested in the adoption of appropriate technology that will transform public transportation in the near future.
The trials will take place in various terrain and climatic conditions to assess the bus's performance, General Pande said, highlighting the military's commitment to adopting sustainable and eco-friendly technologies.
The Indian Army will be testing one of the 15 Hydrogen-powered fuel cell buses that have the potential to reduce carbon emissions and dependency on traditional fossil fuels.
Hailing the six to seven decades of partnership between IOC and the Indian Army, Pande emphasized that they are going to take this collaboration to the next level with the government's new Green Hydrogen Mission 2023.
