Bangladesh is committed to collaborating with countries that actively help in Dhaka's development and advancement, regardless of their involvement in wars with other states, Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said.
"I first consider the development of my country. I will move ahead with those who will help us in our country's development", Hasina explained during her address at an event on Sunday.
She emphasised that by such an approach, Bangladesh will not take into account which country engages in war with whom.
Hasina also reiterated her country's stance that Bangladesh doesn't want war, but seeks peace.
“We want friendship with everyone and strive to maintain friendly relations with everyone”, the BSS agency quotes the prime minister as saying.
"None can pull us back. Bangladesh became a nation of the beggars after August 15, 1975 changeover. We always have to be alert. We have to take the country forward", she added.
