The main buyers of Russian agricultural products at the end of 2023 were China and Turkiye, while India entered the top five importers for the first time, displacing South Korea, Sputnik has learned.
Based on UN Comtrade data, at the end of last year the largest volume of Russian exports of agricultural goods went to China — $8.8 billion. Next came Turkiye with $5.2 billion and Egypt on $3.2 billion.
Kazakhstan and India closed the top five countries with the volume of imports of agricultural products from Russia at $3.1 billion and $1.3 billion.
India, which increased food imports from the Russia by 41% over the year, was able to bump South Korea off the top five after it reduced its Russian imports by 22 percent compared to 2022 to $1.2 billion.
Next in agro-industrial imports from the Russian Federation are Japan, which bought goods worth $969 million, Uzbekistan on $966 million and Azerbaijan with $839 million. Pakistan closed the top ten main buyers for 2023 with $821.3 million.
