"The senior leadership ... articulated the Indian Army’s Vision@2047 as: To transform into a modern, agile, adaptive, technology-enabled, and self-reliant future-ready force, capable of deterring and winning wars in a multi-domain environment across the spectrum of operations, to protect our national interests in synergy with the other Services," the military strategy, proposed by the Indian authorities during a meeting convened by the Indian armed forces, read.
During the meeting, the authorities discussed the ongoing modernization of the Indian army, focusing on technological advancement, as well as held an experience exchange with Indian military veterans, the statement read.
"Today's focus of the discussion was on charting the future course of the Indian Army during the Amrit Kaal [the period of development before 2047], aligning with the Government of India's Vision to make India a developed country, a significant global player and one of the most desirable countries to live in by 2047. The forum provided an opportunity for the Indian Army’s top brass to brainstorm on strategic issues and set the direction for the Indian Army's transformation over the next two decades," the statement read.
Among the issues discussed during the meeting were the reorganization of the army’s headquarters and the command, development of the world-class infrastructure and modernizing operational capacities, including those on land, in air and space.
