"On October 27, employees of the Border Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Bryansk Region together with units of the Russian armed forces and Rosgvardiya suppressed an attempt by a sabotage and reconnaissance group to violate the state border of the Russian Federation in the Klimovsky District," the statement said.
All four saboteurs were eliminated, and the remnants of the sabotage and reconnaissance group were hit by a missile and artillery strike.
One of the eliminated saboteurs had a tattoo indicating membership in the US Army's elite 75th Ranger Regiment.
The saboteurs also possessed personal items indicating their allegiance to third countries, as well as foreign weapons, equipment and communications equipment.
