India, Russia to Hold 25th Meeting of Intergovernmental Commission in New Delhi

NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – India and Russia will hold the 25th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation on Tuesday.

The meeting will be held behind closed doors in New Delhi.
Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will co-chair the meeting.
Manturov arrived in India the day before and during the visit held meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jaishankar, and also participated in the opening of the Russian-Indian business forum in Mumbai.
The Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation is a mechanism for regular monitoring of bilateral progress in the sectors of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, which was established by the agreement on the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation signed in May 1992. The first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was held in mid-September 1994.
