MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia's Yug (South) group of forces eliminated up to 720 Ukrainian servicepeople over the past day, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Wednesday.

The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 720 servicepeople, two tanks, eight vehicles, the ministry said in a statement.

Russia’s Zapad (West) group of forces has eliminated up to 500 Ukrainian soldiers, the Tsentr (Center) group of forces has taken out over 480 troops troops.

Additionally, the Russian forces have taken control of the village of Rovnopol in the Donetsk People's Republic.
