The existing crematorium in Kharkov does not have enough capacity to deal with that number of bodies, and mobile crematoria are being organised, captured Ukrainian soldier Ivan Kuts (call sign "Kuts") said.
"There are so many injured and even more dead. The stationary crematorium in Kharkov cannot handle it, so they brought mobile [crematoria]. They burn the bodies to avoid paying the families of the dead," Kuts revealed.
The bodies of foreign mercenaries are also burned to hide their presence in Ukraine, Kuts added.
A group of six employees of Ukraine's State Border Service, including Kuts, surrendered to Russia on the border with the Belgorod Region in the Kharkov direction on Orthodox Christmas Eve.
